Other cities named among the world’s worst are Kiev (Ukraine), Douala (Cameroon), Harare (Zimbabwe), Karachi (Pakistan), Algiers (Algeria), Port Moresby (Papa New Guinea), Dhaka (Bangladesh), and Tripoli (Libya).
The report features 140 major cities, with Melbourne, Australia being ranked as the best city to live in the world.
Other cities which are among the best to live in, according to the report, are Vienna (Austria), Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary (all in Canada), Adelaide and Perth (Australia), Auckland (New Zealand), Helsinki (Finland) and Hamburg (Germany).
EIU ranks the countries according to stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.
Lagos has featured on the bottom end of the EIU’s liveability list since 2013, and has also been named by Forbes as one of the world’s worst cities to live in.
