David 'Kochie' Koch's daughters tease their 'hot brother' AJ about his hairline as he goes viral after Sunrise host's resignation

David 'Kochie' Koch's three daughters have had a field day poking fun at their 'hot brother' Alexander after he went viral this week.

Alexander, who goes by the nickname AJ, unwittingly became a national heartthrob on Monday following his father's shock resignation as co-host of Sunrise.

On Tuesday, Kochie, 67, told viewers that his daughters Samantha, 52, Bree, 38, and Georgina, 32, had found great humour in the hubbub surrounding their hunky sibling, 35.

'His sisters have gone to town on him, let me tell you,' he told his co-host Natalie Barr

'[They were] saying, 'Receding hairline', and all that sort of stuff, all of that lovely euphoria,' he added, presumably referring to his son's apparent hair loss.

Follically-challenged Kochie has never been afraid to joke about his appearance, even describing himself in his Instagram bio with the words: 'Tall, balding, big nose.'

AJ is just as business savvy as his iconic father, but is happy to work from behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera.

He has worked as the general manager for the Kochie-founded Pinstripe Media, a popular financial publisher and content agency, for 12 years.

He has his social media set to private and rarely makes public appearances, although Kochie proudly posted some heartwarming snaps to Facebook of his son's wedding in 2018.

AJ cut a dashing figure on his wedding day in a smart tailored grey suit as he married his fiancée Carrie, in an intimate ceremony that Kochie and his family attended.

Elsewhere on Tuesday's broadcast, Kochie revealed he'd been heckled on the street by a stranger shortly after announcing his resignation.

'His sisters have gone to town on him, let me tell you,' he told his co-host Natalie Barr. '[They were] saying, 'Receding hairline', and all that sort of stuff, all of that lovely euphoria,' he added, presumably referring to his son's apparent hair loss

'I'm walking to lunch with [my wife] Libby and walked by a bloke, and he goes "I'm glad you're resigning, you are just a paid mouthpiece for Big Pharma, and an anti-vaxxer!"' Kochie said.

'And we go, "Jeez, really?". They start yelling at me across the road, and just we go, "What the hell?"' he added.

Kochie shocked viewers when he announced on Monday morning that he's leaving the breakfast show after 21 years.

After making the surprise announcement, the veteran TV presenter revealed he's walking away from the hit show to focus on his own businesses.

He also wants to enjoy more flexible work hours to spend time with his growing family.

'It's time for me to work business hours and for [wife] Libby and I to have a bit more flexibility to enjoy our burgeoning family, to travel and focus on our family business interests in Pinstripe Media and the Ausbiz business channel,' he told viewers.

'As everyone knows, I'm a finance nerd so you'll still see me pop up every so often on RBA board meeting days or covering other big financial news, but as a guest rather than host.'
