A lot to celebrate! Brad Pitt is spending Father’s Day with his children in London amid the new custody arrangement he has with estranged wife Angelina Jolie.
The 54-year-old Fury star was able to enjoy his special celebration on Sunday, June 16, just days after Us Weekly confirmed that Jolie, 43, was court-ordered to give him more time with their children over the summer. The Oscar winner, meanwhile, is currently in Iraq with the United Nations Refugee Agency.
A judge with the Superior Court of Los Angeles County ruled that it would be “harmful” to their six children — Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 9 — to not be able to have a relationship with their dad. The court also noted that it’s “critical that each of them have a healthy and strong relationship” with both their mother and father.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly on June 12, the children — apart from Maddox, who is free to decide whom he spends his time with because of his older age — will divide time between London and Los Angeles until the next court hearing on August 13.
Jolie released a statement through her spokesperson on Wednesday, June 13, that details of the custody agreement being leaked to the public, were “not in the best interests of the children.”
Following news of their newly minted agreement, Pitt was spotted enjoying the fresh air in London while riding his bike near his hotel. He is currently staying in the U.K. while Jolie films Maleficent 2.
Sunday’s celebration marked a change from last year, when the Ocean’s Eleven actor didn’t get to spend Father’s Day with his brood. Instead, they had an early celebration before Jolie jetted off to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Father’s Day 2017 with all six kids, according to E!
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016. The two were married for two years and together for 12 years.
